Who would’ve predicted a 12 seed emerging victorious against a 5 seed? This mid-major breed has made quite the splash in the tournament, taking their underdog spirit all the way to the finals!
#8 Corgi vs. #1 Golden Retriever:
Congratulations to the Corgis for their massive upset over the #1 overall seed Golden Retrievers. Maybe the Goldens got caught looking ahead to the Final Four? Either way, this victory was lopsided in the Corgi’s favor in the middle of a very strong tournament run. Don’t forget about these guys next year!

#3 Border Collie vs. #7 Pug:
The Border Collies cruised through the Final Four to reach the championship match. While Pugs are some of the most popular breeds on the internet, their stardom wasn’t enough to get them to the finals. Maybe next year!

#3 Border Collie vs. #12 Australian Cattle Dog:
The Australian Cattle Dogs barely squeaked out a win over the Corgis. However, it’s worth noting that the competition to this point for Australian Cattle Dogs has been very tough. Border Collies have played against a #7, #11, and #14 seed. On the other hand, Australian Cattle Dogs have matched against a #4, #5, and #8 seed. Will the Cinderella story continue? Who knows, but we do love a good underdog story!
